A Wisconsin Teacher's Perspective
Educators are facing many challenges with the legislative body in Iowa.
A few issues:
1. Efforts to bring "pay performance" schemes to Iowa are at the top of the legislative agenda for the House and the new governor
2. Four year old pre-school is under serious attack as the legislature seeks to turn it into a means tested program
3. The legislature seeks to drastically underfund AEAs - so they no longer exist
4. House Republicans want to get rid of the Iowa Core Curriculum and write their own curriculum in its place
These are only things being discussed openly! It is very important to have a strong and vocal showing at the forums! Please plan on attending more than one! Support education for all in Iowa!
