Goal Area 1: Improve the Professional Status of Members

  1. Negotiate and maintain salaries and benefits.
  2. Enhance/improve health insurance benefits.
  3. Seek member input on negotiation issues.
  4. Educate membership on contract provisions.
  5. Compare Cedar Rapids salaries with other urban Iowa districts for experienced teacher pay. Continue to monitor the middle of the salary schedule.

 

Goal Area 2: Promote & Protect the Integrity of the Profession

  1. Enforce current contract provisions and intervene as necessary.
  2. Review and modify contract language.
  3. Provide conflict resolution process to assist members.
  4. Support teachers with new evaluation process.
  5. Educate administrations on contract provisions including the new evaluation process.
