Goal Area 1: Improve the Professional Status of Members
- Negotiate and maintain salaries and benefits.
- Enhance/improve health insurance benefits.
- Seek member input on negotiation issues.
- Educate membership on contract provisions.
- Compare Cedar Rapids salaries with other urban Iowa districts for experienced
teacher pay. Continue to monitor the middle of the salary schedule.
Goal Area 2: Promote & Protect the Integrity of the Profession
- Enforce current contract provisions and intervene as necessary.
- Review and modify contract language.
- Provide conflict resolution process to assist members.
- Support teachers with new evaluation process.
- Educate administrations on contract provisions including the new evaluation
process.
