The Building Better Teaching and Learning committee members work on improving and enhancing instruction and professional development in the district. This year we are working toward three basic goals:
1. To plan and host at least three instructional seminars
that address "hot topics" of interest to educators.
2. To continue support for National Board Candidates and
enhance the National Board Certification mentoring group for members interested
in or actively working toward NBC.
3. To strategize ways to support members in danger of
being penalized under No Child Left Behind, or ESEA as we prefer to call
it.

Seminars on the "I Can Do It Plus" classroom management program, which received glowing evaluations from the participants, take place annually for educators across the district.
For those curious about National Board Certification, two courses will be hosted: Exploring National Board Certification: Pre-Candidacy and Assessing Portfolio Entries. Both courses can be taken for graduate or recertification credit through ISEA's Professional Development Academy.
